• Worship God

The book of Revelation is an incredible source of deep gospel truth and encouragement for the church.  In it, we find the church in victory through Jesus Christ despite the wickedness of the world.  In it, we find the church reflecting the glory of our Savior despite the dark, demonic efforts to subdue her.  In it, we find the church sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise as the world around her take the mark of the beast.  In it, we find the church standing blameless before a just and mighty God who judges and wages war with the kings of the earth who are in league with the beast.  On and on it…

  • The Real Mystery Behind Shemitah

If you’re a follower of Jesus Christ like I am, the exciting expectation of the day of our Lord’s return is something, well, difficult to express in words.  Put simply, I can’t WAIT until the day that Jesus returns.  This is something I long for, pray for, and sometimes even find myself weeping about.  The reality of this day lives very strongly within me – the promise of resurrection for those who sleep, the conclusive death of death, the eternal glorification of the redeemed, the vindication and justice for those who have suffered wrongly at the hands of evil, not to mention the primary objective of that day which is God’s creation seeing their Creator face to…

  • Why Support Missions?

Missions.  I love missions.  Since the very beginning of my walk with God in October of 1999, I have been involved in missions in one form or another.  My wife and I have served in the past as Missions Directors and currently I serve as the Missions Pastor at Waters Edge Church.  We have traveled internationally and nationally with the gospel message on short term trips.  We even took our 11 year old daughter with us to Mexico over Christmas vacation one year.  We have supported missions and missionaries financially and currently support the missions work of our church as well as the work that is being accomplished on Iowa’s university…

  • The Importance of Resurrection

If I was to ask you of all the truths that the bible teaches, which is the most important, what would you say?  We could say the proof of the existence of Almighty God and His act of creation.  We could say His love for that fallen creation and sinful humanity.  We could say the doctrine of the Holy Spirit who convicts us of sin, teaches us, and empowers us to live holy, God-honoring lives.  We could say the teachings regarding eschatology (end times) including the believer’s future in heaven and the unbeliever’s torment in hell.  We could say a lot of different things and I’m not so sure we could narrow it down…

  • No Laughing Matter

I love a good joke.  It is great therapy to laugh.  At work, we laugh all the time, mostly to make the best out of our job situation and to pass the time.  Sometimes, we even find ourselves laughing at things that really aren’t that funny.  But one thing that isn’t funny is the promise of the return of Jesus Christ.  That my friends is no laughing matter at all! The apostle Peter brings this to our attention in his second epistle to us.  He says this: “Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts, and saying, “Where…
